🌲Cryptid Zine #1🌲

Hey everyone!! So I have already gotten a lot of people letting me know they are interested so I’m going to make an official post for the first CRYPTIDS ARE EVERYWHERE Zine!!

The first issue theme is:

Heavy Hitters- This first issue is for the cryptid that you first think of when somebody mentions cryptozoology. Your Bigfoot, your Mothman, Nessie, flatwoods monster, etc (I wanted to keep our first issue simple and accessable to everyone!!)

What am I looking for?

• Paintings
• Drawings
• Comics
• Poems
• Super Short stories
• Photo manipulation
• Photography
• Photos of physical art

How do you submit?

You can submit to the email I made just for this project and future cryptid related projects at:

Please include either your name or your username so you can be credited for your hard work!

If you would like to remain anonymous that is also okay but please write that in your email submission so I know what to do!

I reserve the right to not include any submissions that are offensive or NSFW (I get it that just isn’t the type of thing I’m trying to make right this moment) or if it doesn’t meet the guidelines I have laid out! Thanks for understanding!

Can I submit multiple times?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is yes but please understand that there is the possibility that one or more may not make it into the first issue. However that doesn’t mean it won’t make it into a future issue so don’t fret!!

AND FINALLY…

All submissions must be in by October 31st midnight est. I wanted to give people plenty of time to make their art and submit it! I’ll be sure to post reminders when we get closer to the due date!!

To be clear when I say NSFW I mean sexually explicit or excessive Gore a bit of blood is fine by me generally speaking.

Also I have been asked a few great questions I thought might clear some of my vagueness up!

1. How many things can I submit? Realize that I have no idea how many things I’m going to receive. I’m going to do my absolute best to get everyone’s work in so if that means I can only do one per person it may have to be that way but I will try to fit at least 2-3 depending on the number of entries.
2. What cryptids fit in the theme? That is subjective and honestly I’d like to leave it open to interpretation so people can make what they like! This is for fun so that we can all appreciate everyone’s fabulous art!
3. If I write a story can I submit an image to go along with it? ABSOLUTELY! Idk if y’all know this but I’m super into Scary Stories to tell in the Dark and so YOU KNOW CHA BOI WANTS THAT GOOD GOOD ART.

Honestly guys I’m just excited to see everything come together so don’t stress too much. Your work is amazing and I will love all of it I’m sure.

Will this be a digital zine or a physical copy? Also what image sizes am I looking for?

I wasn’t clear on any of that I am sorry this is my first time trying to set something like this up! Thanks to everyone for asking questions!

I’m going to make a full post about my plan for a physical copy but there will also be an online version for people to enjoy.

As far as the size goes for the physical copy they will be 5.5"x8.5" so if you can make it easily fit into that that would be amazing but I work with photo editing at my day job I can make it fit if I have to. Thanks to @startai for asking!!
